iPad Project
There is a book by Bernard Morris called ‘The Pleasure of Unravelling Secrets”.  This is exactly what Swansea U3A’s iPad class has experienced in its production of eBooks and short digital narratives.
One example is our initiative of researching and digitally capturing the story behind our Guildhall, its art, architecture and inspiration.  We have been so successful that the Council is now talking to us about providing tours and schools are talking to us about similar projects.
To us, the work we have completed is archetypal U3A – research by groups of people, developing relationships with museums and County Archives and determining which (of many) forms of technology is the most appropriate for ‘this’ project.
We have shown the results to other U3As who have been inspired to consider similar such assignments.  The team is also considering how this type of project can be undertaken across Interest Groups and, indeed, across U3As.
